| PSC exams | | JURSEA warns agitation against cut in upper age limit | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 04- Criticizing the decision of Public Service Commission of curtailing the upper age limit of general category candidates and providing more age relaxation to other categories, President Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association, (JURSA), Vikas Sharma termed the move as a deliberate attempt to debar the open category candidates who are above the age of 35 years and threatened agitation if the decision was not revoked within next 10 days. Addressing media persons here today Sharma, while terming the Commission as ‘bunch of jokers’ said that it is also a fact the commission has never issued a list or advertisement without any controversy leading to litigations. Sharma has urged the Chief Minister designate Omar Abdullah to implement the statement which he gave a few days back about the plight of the educated unemployed youth and stressed upon him to look into the facts in which the Commission has provided more relaxation to the reserved category aspirants. Threatening self immolation, he said that Association has already chalked out its strategy and the exact day and time would be made to public just 30 minutes before the self immolation program so that the state administration and the PSC does not hamper the proposed program. He said that 13 candidates have already enrolled for sacrificing their life for the cause of their genuine demands. Describing the decision as anti- general category candidates, the JURSA President has appealed the Governor to revoke such a controversial order and keep the upper age limit of general candidates at 40 years on the lines of other PSCs.
