NEP reducing burden
2/23/2023 11:02:52 PM
Union Ministry of Education has directed all States and Union Territories to fix the minimum age for admission in Class-1 as six years.
Citing the New Education Policy (NEP) the ministry has stated that the foundational stage consists of five years of learning opportunities for all children (between 3 and 8 years of age) that includes three years of preschool education and then classes 1 and 2.
The directive of the Education Ministry to schools will allow the children to live their childhood without the burden of books and bags till they attain the age of six years.
The introduction of the NEP has changed the very concept of education in the country. Besides providing the full opportunity to children to live their childhood, it’s preparing the students to meet the challenges of life by honing their skills in a very young age.
Introduction of the vocational courses from class 6th onwards is a significant step towards building the future of the youngsters.
They are being taught the very concept of life from the very young age.
After the introduction of NEP the ambit of education has been extended beyond books. Co-circular activities are proving beneficial for the students.
Fixing the age as 6-years for the admissions in first grade is yet another step towards the welfare of children. The policy makers are considering every point to equip the generation-next of India to achieve whatever they want in their lives.
The main idea behind prescribing the age limit for admission to grade-I is to ensure accessibility to three years of quality preschool education for all children studying in Anganwadis or government-aided, private and NGO-run preschool centers.
The directive will save the children from carrying heavy school bags and the burden of homework at a tender age. The policy makers by reducing the burden have ensured that children enjoy schooling and develop interest in studies.
The concept of schooling is changing and an attempt has been made to make it more interesting and rewarding.
The introduction of NEP has proven to be a major step towards reforming the education system of the country and the new ideas are being welcomed by the people.
