2/24/2023 10:07:13 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 24: The hearing of final arguments in the much publicised appeal preferred by Mamta Singh W/o Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K against the JDA’s demolition notice regarding the alleged illegal construction of a house at village Ban (Nagrota) which was fixed on February 22,2023 was again deferred/adjourned for March 15,2023 as Mamta Singh’s counsel Senior Advocate, R. K. Gupta was not available to advance arguments as he was reportedly engaged in some other matter before the High Court.
It may be recalled that on a previous date of hearing, appellant Mamta Singh’s counsel had filed a fresh miscellaneous application regarding the applicability of ‘J&K Unified Building Byelaws-2021’ to the appellant’s case which was taken on record and the copy of the said application was provided to the JDA’s counsel for filing objections to the same and the matter was fixed for filing objections to the application of the appellant and for arguments on the maintainability of the said Miscellaneous Application on February 7th,2023.
The Presiding Officer of the J&K Special Tribunal Rajiv Gupta (Judicial Member) had directed the JDA’s Counsel Advocate Adarsh Sharma to file the objections to the Miscellaneous Application by or before the next date of hearing i.e. February 7,2023 and had further directed the JDA’s Counsel to provide advance copy of the objections to the appellant’s counsel so that the arguments on the maintainability of the application could be heard on the next date of hearing.
