Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 27: Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has said that Congress forced children to read history of Mughals who were alien invaders and not that of aboriginal heroes who remained unsung till date.
He expressed this while interacting with Editor of Hindu Foundation Nagpur, Sandeep Gupta who had called on him here today. Sandeep handed over a book ‘Matrabhumi—Vandan Krantikarion Ko’ comprising stories of 400 unsung heroes including men, women and children who contributed and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
Kavinder Gupta appreciated Sandeep Gupta for his relentless efforts in organizing more than 300 programmes in different parts of the nation to highlight the role played by these unsung heroes so that people especially the youth are aware about the sacrifices made by these freedom fighters. He said that knowingly or unknowingly the contributions of such unsung heroes were never highlighted even at the official level during over seven decades post independence of the nation. He said that in view of this lapse, Sandeep Gupta has done a remarkable job by compiling the contributions of the unsung heroes without whom the freedom struggle of the nation would not have reached the logical conclusion.
The senior BJP leader said that the significance of Sandeep Gupta’s endeavour can be well gauged from the fact that even stalwarts like Amit Shah and Mohan Bhagwat have also accorded recognition to the industrious efforts of Sandeep Gupta. He said that it is really an irony of this nation and its people that Congress forced children to read about history of Mughals who were aliens and invaders. Moreover it did not highlight or promote the awareness among the children about the aboriginal people of India in the freedom struggle of the nation.
Kavinder Gupta said that youth across the nation should get inspiration from Sandeep Gupta and his compilation and devotedly contribute towards the nation building by becoming its narrative.
Sandeep Gupta, while thanking Kavinder Gupta for lauding and appreciating him for the endeavour, extended invitation to him to participate in his upcoming programme to recognize the sacrifice of unsung heroes scheduled to be held on March 22 and 23 at Nagpur.
