“Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train" flagged off from Safdarjung

NEW DELHI, Mar 1: Bharat Gaurav Deluxe A.C.Tourist Train "Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train" flagged off from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station today on its auspicious tour by Ashwini Vaishnaw Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology along with Parshottam Rupala, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Darshana Vikram Jardosh, MoS Textiles and Railways and Devusinh Chauhan, MoS Communications. Chairman cum CEO, Railway Board, Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager Northern Railway, Ashutosh Gangal, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Indian Railways is running this Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Yojna. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme aims to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different states which is based on integration of a united Nation, the vision of great freedom fighter, Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel. This Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train envisages the historic, religious and other tourism important places of Gujarat State. Gujarat is a flourishing State with cultural diversity. It is vibrant with its true colours of rich heritage and cultural traditions. Bharat Gaurav Tourist "Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train "started on its very special tour of Gujrat today will cover some of the very prominent monuments, pilgrimage and world heritage sites of Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, Vaishnaw said that such pilgrim trains give us an opportunity to the believers to expose themselves to Indian culture and this train is the 17th train in this circuit.
Garvi Gujraat Yatra train after departure from Delhi will arrive the next day at Kevadia/ Vadodara. On the next day, tourists will proceed to Champaner archaeological site. On day 03, tourists will visit the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world. On the fourth day, tourists will visit Temple, BhalkaTirth, Somnath Temple and Somnath Beach. On the fifth day, tourists will visit Dwarkadheesh Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirling and Beyt Dwarka. On the next halt at Ahmedabad, a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, Adhlaj Stepwell, Dandi Kutir and Akshardham Temple has been arranged for tourists. Sun Temple at Modhera and visit Rani Ki Vav at Patan, the historic and world heritage sites are also in the itinerary of this train. The train embarked on its journey on the 8 days' tour will cover approximately 3500 k.m. route.
Coupled with a modern state of the art AC rake, modern amenities, two dining restaurants, modern kitchen car, foot massager for tourists, mini library besides Security Guards, electronic locker and clean toilets, enhanced security features of CCTV Cameras etc., the tourist train has options to board the train from Gurgaon, Rewari, Ringas, Phulera and Ajmer stations in the tour. Railways have also tied up with payment gateways for providing EMI payment options to the customers.
Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train launched in line with the Government of India initiative "Dekho Apna Desh" to promote domestic tourism.
