| Electing highest Congress legislators, Doda region anguished cabinet exclusion | | | SHARIK NABI Doda, Jan 5: Erstwhile Doda district –now split into three districts having six constituencies –from where congress has won five seats in the current legislatively assembly is feeling ignored as none from the region has been included in Omar Abdullah’s Council of Ministers. This district has a distinction of giving first Chief Minister ever from Jammu region. But this time after out numbering other districts while electing Congress candidates this district did not get any representation in the cabinet. In the much hyped swearing-in ceremony which held here at Zorawar Singh Auditorium today, the people of this district were jolted when they came to know that no leader from this hilly belt were inducted in the cabinet. People of this belt have voted for congress because this district has distinction of having Jammuites first CM, which has proved quite fruitful for them. While expressing his anguish Mohammad Ashraf Zarger, General Secretary Doda Development Front (DDF) said that it is injustice with this belt that after electing maximum number of Congress candidate it did not have any representation in the newly formed cabinet. He said that people here were of the hope that their leader Abdul Majid Wani, former MoS Housing and Urban will be inducted as Dy CM. But people here get astonished when they came to know that this belt has been ignored and no representation have been given in the cabinet. Khurshied Ahmed Malik, a common man said that people here voted Congress as an alternative of National Conference because it had done lot of injustice with this belt. He said that they voted congress because they want development and if new government did not give representation to their leader Abdul Majid Wani in the cabinet berth then they feel betrayed. In this connection when Abdul Majid Wani, MLA Doda was contacted he said that it is better to be late then never. It is decision of party high command and they had to accept it but he is equally hopeful that former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is aware of the discrimination with this belt and he will do justice, added Wani.
