SRINAGAR, JAN 7: Cabinet Minister, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar here today convened a meeting of district administration, Srinagar to review the arrangements made for Muharram. The meeting also discussed the arrangements made for Muharram in Shia-dominated areas for Magam, Balhama, Bhagwanpora and Budgam, made by the administration. Later, the Minister along with the District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir, Mr. G. M. Dar, Chief Engineer, PDD, Mr. Altaf Ahmad and senior officers of the district administration visited the Shia-dominated areas of Zadibal and Hassanabad and sought appraisal from the people about arrangements put in place by the administration in connection with Muharram. Sagar, while interacting with the people, directed the concerned officers to take immediate measures for solving the problems of the residents. He issued instructions for cleaning all the lanes and by-lanes leading to the Imambaras and ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply during the Muharram, especially in Shia-dominated areas. Meanwhile, Mr. Sagar, while paying rich tribute to the martyrs of Karbala, said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) made supreme sacrifices for upholding truth, righteousness and high values of humanity.
