Samoon inaugurates ICT Lab at ITI Rajouri

RAJOURI, Mar 18: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today visited ITI Rajouri where he inaugurated an Information and Communication Technology Laboratory and inspected various sections of the institute.
The lab has been established with an aim of providing better communication and information resources to the youth trainees.
During the event, Dr Samoon interacted with the trainees and emphasised the need for a special focus on providing quality technical education in the region.
Principal Secretary also highlighted the importance of integrating technology into every aspect of life to fast-track development and progress. The Information and Communication Technology lab is expected to bridge the gap between knowledge and access for the trainees, equip them with necessary technical skills, and open up new opportunities for their future, he maintained.
During his visit, he held interactions with the students and faculty members of the ITI and inspected classrooms and labs.
While interacting with the students of the ITI, Samoon encouraged them to make best use of the resources that have been made available to them during their training period. He stressed upon the faculty to impart quality training to the students and focus on practical-oriented courses.
Principal Secretary also interacted with the youth trainees identified during the ‘Back to Village’ program and discussed their aspirations. He also provided guidance on how to maximize their potential in terms of the knowledge and skills.
It is pertinent to mention here that 120 youth were identified for skill development in the district under B2V, out of which, sixty had been identified during B2V are undergoing training in ITI.
Later, Principal Secretary distributed certificates among the best trainees of the Industrial Training Institute and wished them good luck in their professional journey. DC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal; Principal ITI, Rashid Sheikh; DO NRLM, Javed Ul Sofi and other officers were present on the occasion.
