KISHTWAR, Mar 21: Commanding Officer, Jammu & Kashmir, Armed Police, 22nd Battalion, Ramesh Angral was the chief guest on the valedictory function of the 2 Day Integrated Outreach & Communication programme organised by Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office, Udhampur, under the aegis of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
The Outreach Programme was organised with the aim to generate mass awareness regarding the ongoing campaign of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Centrally Sponsored Scheme by the Bureau.
While delivering address to the gathering at Tourist Reception Center, Kishtwar the chief guest said, this Exhibition depicts the long history of Freedom Movement in India and is more appealing in a unique way. While appreciating the efforts of Central Bureau of Communication Angral said, we must carry forward the spirit behind the Indian Freedom Movement and remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Khursheed Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Field Office Udhampur gave an overview of various IEC activities being carried out by the department in J&K & Ladakh. He highlighted the importance such programmes which play a pivotal role in spreading the awareness of various policies and programmes of the Government.
Speaking on this occasion Yousuf said, G20 Presidency is a matter of pride for every citizen of India. Giving details of the Exhibition, he was of the view that depicting rearest of the rear photographs of Freedom fighters, unsung Heroes and history of freedom struggle showcasing various mega and important events of Indian Freedom Movement is inspiration for all of us. Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Kishtwar, Sh. Babu Ram spoke about the various schemes of Social Welfare Department and achievements on ground. Neelam Parihar, from ICDS Kishtwar also spoke on the occasion. On the occasion Open Quiz Competition related to the Indian Freedom Movement and Unsung heroes was also organised and prizes were given away among the winners. Nagani Cultural Troupe also performed the local folk in the Programme. Besides others, Gurnam Singh, CBC Udhampur, Vikram Uppal, CBC Doda were also present during the event. Gurnam Singh moderated today proceedings of the programme.
