JAMMU JAN: 8: Despite severe cold, commemorating the Ashura, the martyrdoms anniversary of Prophet Mohammad grand son Hazrat Imam Hussain (Alia salam) was observed with religious solemnity in Kargil district today. The largest procession was taken in Kargil town in which thousands of mourners comprised 32 Dastas participated in the Zuljani and Alam procession. While reciting NOWHA and beating breast recalling the supreme sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in the desert of Karebala in Iraq more than 1400 years ago. The procession started from Balti-Baza, Iqbal Bridge and passed through various streets and terminated at Qatilgah peacefully, the prcession stayed briefly at islamia School, where the religious scholars highlighted the holy sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussain (AS) for the cause of truth, justice and righteousness. While performing Ziyarat in honor of martyrs of Karbala at Qatilgah, Kargil prayers were made for ushering peace and tranquility in the world and giving strength to Muslim to follow the path of truth and rededicating themselves for bringing harmony and peace in the society. District administration had arranged security arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, Medicare for the people. In the morning the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan inspected the arrangements made at District Hospital, Kargil for mourners. The additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Tsering Muroop and Deputy Superintendent of Police RP Singh and Sonam Dechan was supervising all arrangements. Voluntary organization had installed stall of tea and sharbat enroute for mourners at different locations. Shama-Garibhan is also being observed today in the evening it different Imam-Baras of the district to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala. Ashura processon was also taken out in Drass Sub-Division. The processon was commenced form Goshan after passing through the main Bazar, it culminated at Dar-ul-Tableeq Drass
