Dangal promotes taste of youth towards sports & games: Sham Sharma

AKHNOOR, Mar 22: Sham Lal Sharma, Vice President Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir and former minister has reiterated the commitment of Bharatiya Janata Party to improve sports infrastructure across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the sports is the key to a society with a healthy physique as well as healthy mind.
He expressed this while addressing a gathering during a Dangal held at Panchayat Upper Sungal (Sumah) of Akhnoor Assembly segment. On the occasion Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Rameshwar Das, Vice Chairman DDC Jammu Suraj Singh, DySP K.D Bhagat, Yuva Sanskrit Sevi Kailakh Jyotish and Head of Vedic Sansthan Trust Mahant Rohit Shastri, Vice President Press Club of Jammu Zorawar Singh and other senior citizens were present.
Sham sharma lauded the efforts of Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee for conducting such an attractive sports event in the area that has attracted huge gathering of Dangal and other sports enthusiasts. He said that the local wrestling tournaments is no less than a festival for the people here who feel highly excited to witness the bouts between the wrestlers from different regions.
The former minister said that developing sports culture among the young minds is necessary for the overall development of one’s personality. Asserting that sports holds key to healthy body and a healthy mind, he urged the youth to make sports an inseparable part of their daily routine in life. He assured that BJP will leave no stone unturned in improving the sports infrastructure to highest level of excellence across the J&K Union Territory.
Sham Lal Sharma also appreciated the efforts of Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee headed by Harish Sharma, President and Tilak Raj Sharma, Naib Sarpanch Chairman for organizing such events which promotes the taste of youth towards sports and games and also promotes brotherhood and communal harmony.
A total of 90 bouts were played in which Rubal from Khanna won the final bout by defeating Sonu from Delhi. The Chief Guest felicitated the wrestler Rubal for winning the final bout with cash prize of Rs 1,50,000.
Members of Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee including Sanjay Kumar Vice President Madan Lal, Ajeet Raj, Vinod Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Kewal Kumar General Secretary , Rakesh Sharma, Ravi Yalla, Bittu, Sanju Kumar, Yog Raj Kannu Sharma, Pinka Kumar, Kaka Kumar, Shibhu Kumar, Sohan Singh Raja and Sanjay Kumar were present on the occasion.
