JAMMU, Mar 23: Kavinder Gupta, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister has asserted that people are witnessing unprecedented development in every nook and corner of the Union Territory today, adding that BJP stands fully committed to fulfill the pressing demands of the people at the earliest.
The former Deputy Chief Minister was speaking after dedicating newly constructed lanes to the people of Jawahar Nagar, Ward No: 2 Cantonment Area here today. Bharat Bhushan, Vice Chairman Cantonment Board; Vinay Gupta, Narinder Koki, Gurdyal Singh and Ajay Sharma accompanied the former Deputy Chief Minister.
The senior BJP leader asserted that the Union Government is paying focussed attention to Jammu and Kashmir and is determined to carry out developmental activities in every nook and corner of the Union Territory. He said that the Modi led Govt at the Centre has prioritized the overall development of all the areas without any rural-urban or other discrimination with main focus on roads which ensure the smooth supply of basic essentials as well as other commodities for the ease of living of the people.
Kavinder said that whenever a demand is brought to our notice by the people or we notice that there is any urgent requirement in any area, the party leaders and workers take immediate initiatives to get the demand fulfilled and grievance addressed in the least possible time. He complemented Bharat Bhushan, Vice Chairman Cantonment Board for addressing the concerns of the general public. He asked people of the Cantonment area that if they have any issue related to any development work they must approach Bharat Bhushan for early redressal of their issues.
Expressing serious concern over the issue raised by the local shopkeepers, Kavinder assured that the blacktopping work in the Satwari Bazaar will commence soon in the general interest of shopkeepers of the area. He said that the governments at the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir stand fully committed to ensure basic amenities in all the areas.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a wholesale fruit shop at Narwal Mandi in presence of prominent people and traders of the area. He complimented the proprietor of the shop for helping the government in a big way to address the problem of unemployment by providing employment to the local youth of Jammu region.
The senior BJP leader exhorted upon youth to avail the benefits of the central sponsored scheme to become job creators instead of job seekers. He said that the Prime Minister has initiated several schemes with an aim to foster entrepreneurship in the country with special focus on youth.
