3/24/2023 10:51:34 PM
Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Mar 24: The Jammu & Kashmir Department of Cooperatives Udhampur inaugurated a Procurement and Marketing point at the district headquarters today to fulfill the aim 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' of Ministry of Cooperation.
The initiative was taken with the support of Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Agri, Nishtha Nayyar and Chairman District Marketing Society, Shri Raj.
The marketing point aims to uplift and improve the social and economic status of cooperative members through the newly registered "Alliance Women Multipurpose Cooperative Ltd." This 'Model Cooperative' will provide backward and forward linkage to cooperatives engaged in producing various organic agricultural, horticultural, dairy, herbal products including special varieties of honey, pickle, jam, candy, anardana, kesar, rajmash, walnuts, mushroom and handicraft items. The Chairman assured that this facility would support all cooperatives by procuring their products and creating a source of income for hardworking members. Previously these members were deprived of reasonable prices for their labour and skill due to a lack of marketing facilities.
Nishtha Nayyar assured members of 'Alliance Women Cooperative' that this cooperative model will be presented before the district administration and higher authorities so that every possible support can be provided to encourage this initiative. This will definitely fulfil the slogan 'Sahkar se Samriddhi'.
Members from various cooperatives including Sudh Mahadev Honey Producers Cooperative, Smridhi Procurement and Consumer Marketing Cooperative, Smart Knitting and Tailoring and Self-Help Group from Block Chenani presented their products at the event.
