| Mistaken killing not near CM residence: Govt | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, JAN 8: An official spokesman today clarified that the killing of a person on Gupkar Road in Srinagar on January 6 had taken place about a kilometre away from the residence of the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, and not close to it, as was given out by media reports carried by a section of the press. The scene of occurrence, he said, was actually near the residence of a former Chief Minister and outside that of Army’s 31-Sub-Area Commander. The spokesman said the Army has ordered a high-level enquiry into the incident and the Chief Minister was personally monitoring the probe. He said that the civil administration is not involved in the incident and the Chief Minister has assured that those found guilty by the probe would be dealt with according to law.
