| CM assures justice with all regions | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JANUARY 08 – The Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, today said that ensuring all round development and justice with each region and area of the State and addressing the problem of unemployment is top priority of his Government. Speaking with large deputations of people from Warwan (Kishtwar), R. S. Pura and Poonch, here this evening, the Chief Minister said that there have been allegations of regional discrimination by one or the other region and added that the ailment would have to be diagnosed and treated properly. He said road connectivity, water and power supply and provision of basic amenities in all the areas, especially far-flung pockets, would be ensured. The Chief Minister said that all areas will get their due share in development funds as well as jobs. These were the first deputations meeting Mr. Omar Abdullah, after he assumed the charge of the Chief Minister of the State. Legislators, Mr. Devinder Rana and Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani were also present on the occasion. Referring to the problem of unemployment, the Chief Minister said that he fully understands the agony of the unemployed and believed that it entails working hard to find solution to this problem. "I have started working on it with my colleagues and hope to formulate a plan to address the issue”, said the Chief Minister. Abdullah laid emphasis on the development of the State and said given his government’s sincere efforts, everyone would see the difference during the next six years. Responding to the demand for operating helicopter service for Marwah and Warwan areas during winter months, the Chief Minister said that he fully realises the difficulties of the people of snowbound areas and would discuss the matter with the concerned authorities for arranging helicopter sorties for areas like Warwan, Dachhan, Marwah, Machhil, Keran, Karnah and Gurez to ensure better connectivity. The deputations congratulated Mr. Abdullah on taking over the responsibilities of the State at a very young age and assured him their wholehearted support in taking forward Jammu and Kashmir on the path of rapid progress and prosperity. The deputation from R. S. Pura led by senior NC leader, Mr. Ramesh Mottan, urged the Chief Minister for formulating afresh the BPL lists and providing employment opportunities for the youth. The deputations invited the Chief Minister to visit their areas. A two-minute silence was also observed to pay respects to the memory of the former Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Shah, who passed away on Tuesday.
