DDC Poonch reviews performance of district banks

POONCH, Mar 24: District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting to review the performance of banks in achieving their annual credit targets for the October to December quarter.
Lead District Manager Ashutosh Raj Koul reported that banks have disbursed 77% of their annual target, with 40% achieved in the priority sector and 217% in the non-priority sector.
The total deposits and advances in the district showed a growth of 1.36% and 13.31% respectively compared to the previous year.
An amount of Rs. 70.39 Cr was disbursed among 3101 beneficiaries under various self-employment schemes, generating employment for 5752 people.
The Chairman urged stakeholders to create an environment where youth can pursue self-employment and advised participants to guide unemployed youth towards prosperity and self-sufficiency through credit facilities tailored to their entrepreneurial aspirations.
The Chairman directed stakeholders to improve performance in priority sector lending to achieve visible results.
The meeting was attended by LDO RBI, Navjot Singh; Deputy Director Employment, Mohd. Rafiq; Cluster Head JK Bank Poonch, AKS Bagee; Director JK Bank RSET, Vijay Singh Jasrotia; Regional Manager JKGB, Gagandeep Singh; District Coordinators of all banks and concerned district officers from different departments.
