| Non fresh guests from PoK | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 8: No fresh guest arrived from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) today though 25 people crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector. The Karvan-e-Aman bus service was started between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, the capital of PoK on April 7, 2005 to enable the families divided in 1947 to meet each other. Meanwhile, 12 mini trucks, loaded with different articles arrived here from PoK while only two with goods crossed over to other side of the LoC. The truck service was started between the two parts in October last year. Official sources said that there was no fresh guest from the PoK in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, which arrived at Salamabad this afternoon. However, 16 citizens of this sides, who had gone to PoK, arrived here in the bus after they met their relatives across the border. Interestingly seven citizens crossed over to other side for the first time since 1947 to meet their relatives in PoK. Two residents of PoK also left for their homes after meeting their relatives here. More than 6000 of this side and PoK have crossed sides since the bus service was flagged off by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alongwith UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on April 7, 2005 from here.
