7 - day Special camp concluded in GGM Science College today

JAMMU, Mar 25: NSS Unit II Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College organized a seven day awareness special camp under the patronage of worthy Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan under the aegis of G 20 from 18th March to 25th March 2023. A training to NSS volunteers was given by Master Trainer NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan for conducting the national survey of youth 15 to 29 years not in formal education or regular employement as directed by Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, Govt. of India to formulate National Youth Policy. 50 volunteers were trained which visited the adopted village Mandal under the supervision of Sarpanch Somnath Dogra. The listing of the households were done followed by conducting the survey in the form of 14 page questionare as directed by Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, Govt. of India covering the whole village approximately. A drug deaddiction awareness was also carried out. The volunteers wrote slogans and carried out Say no to Drugs Rally under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat along with Sarpanch and NSS PO. Nukad Natak say no to drugs say yes to life was also performed in the college campus during the 7 day special camp. Road Safety Traffic awareness was also conducted in the community to spread the message of use of seatbelts, helmets, high speed, overtaking, etc under the aegis of Shikshit Bharat. A documentary movie and a lecture by NSS PO was held on the theme "Accelerating the change to solve the water and sanitation crisis" highlighting the critical role of water in our lives and the need to protect and conserve this precious resources. NSS volunteers wrote slogans and made posters and carried out a rally in the college campus with the message Jal hai tu Kal hai. The data collected in the village was compiled and will be sent to Regional Directorate Delhi. The Principal appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers who work on holidays and devote their time in building society in a positive way.
