Jammu, Jan 8: Peoples Democratic Party patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has arrived in the Winter Capital City late this afternoon. Mufti was accompanied by senior party leaders including some former Ministers. He will be putting up in Jammu for next few days where several party meetings have been scheduled, sources said. The Peoples Democratic Party is overwhelmed at winning two seats in Jammu region –first time ever –and keen contest at three other seats. At one seat –Rajouri –the PDP candidate lost to the Congress with a little over 300 votes. Sources said the Mufti will chair a meeting of the party leaders from Jammu province to discuss strategy for upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In 2002 assembly elections, the PDP had secured only little over 30,000 votes across Jammu province while this time the total votes polled to PDP candidates across the region were over 140000. On seven seats of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch alone, the PDP secured around 80,000 votes.
