| Shiver continues in Valley | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: Even though the day time temperature continues to show signs of improvement, biting cold weather conditions continued unabated in most hilly areas besides Leh district, official sources said. According to official sources temperature in Leh dipped to minus 16.2 degrees Celsius, while most hilly areas including Pahalgan and Gulmarg continue to shiwer owing to cold wave conditions. According to PBI, In Kashmir valley, hill resort of Pahalgam was the coldest place, with a minimum temperature of minus 10.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Qazigund (minus 5.5), Kokernag (minus 2.5), Srinagar (minus 1.8), Kupwara (minus 1.7) and Bhaderwah (minus 1.6). A Met Official told PBI that Jammu, winter capital of the state, recorded a low of 6.5 degrees Celsius which was one degree below normal, while Banihal recorded a low of 2.5 degrees Celsius which was two degrees above normal, he said. Interestingly, Srinagar city experienced light snowfall on Tuesday while about two feet of snowfall was recorded at Pahalgam. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 0.5 degree on Wednesday night, while in Kupwara it was 0.6.
