| Lamhaa unit resumes shooting in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar: Multi starrer Lamhee featuring Sanjay Dutt and Bipasa Basu, resumed its shooting in Kashmir after the unit was sent packing owing to wide spread protests against the film last October. "Some of the cast and crew of the film like Sanjay Dutt have already arrived and other members of the unit, including its director Rahul Dholakia and Bipash are likely to reach Srinagar Friday," a senior police official said. The movie landed in a controversy in October last year, after locals residents, who feared that Lamhaa would portray Kashmir in a bad light internationally, launched an agitation and disrupted its shooting twice. "Kashmir is the paradise on the Earth. I have a special emotional attachment with the land and the people here. My father and mother shot films in Kashmir in the past," Dutt told reporters after arriving here. Dutt spent nearly an hour shooting a few shots on the banks of Jhelum River near the old Zero bridge. The film shoot was also carried out near polo view where the crew shot for almost half an hour, sources said. Interestingly, the film is likely to be picturised at famous tourist resorts of Gulmarg and Pahalgam. The crew plans to spend some eight days in the Valley and during their stay the crew plans to shoot extensively. The film shoot was halted twice October last. First, traders disrupted the shooting at the fruit market at Parimpora. Later, students of a college in Anantnag took exception to some of the portions being shot inside the campus and the Principal asked the film crew to withdraw. Film's lead actress Bipasha Basu left the Valley abruptly after she was surrounded by the locals, who wanted to stop the shooting.
