Budgam Police arrests 4 involved in robbery, stolen property recovered

SRINAGAR, Mar 28: Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked a theft case by arresting four accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from them in central Kashmir's Budgam district.
Police Station Magam received a written complaint on February from one Jameel Jamsheed Magray, a resident of Batpora Kanihama stating therein that during the intervening night of January 1 and January 2 some unknown thieves have stolen iron rods weighing about 93 Quintals lying outside his M S Magray Cement Store at Batpora Kanihama.
Police said a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Magam and investigation into the matter was initiated while with the help of technical evidence revealed names of some suspects including Muzzaffar Ahmad Khatana, a resident of Peerah Ramban was questioned.
After sustained questioning Khatana disclosed that he along with other 11 accomplices were involved and have stolen Iron bars weighing around 93 Quintals from Batpora Crossing and have used five vehicles including 4 trucks and a Santro car in the commission of crime and have sold the stolen property to a scrap dealer at Batote Ramban.
Police said that upon this disclosure, the scrap dealer was also arrested in the instant case and the stolen property was recovered.
Four other accused persons have been arrested in the instant case and a truck has also been seized, police added.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sadiq Hussain, Mohammad Irfan Bokra both residents of Peerah Ramban, Mohammad Mughal Bokra a resident of Samba Jammu.
They said other accused along with other vehicles used in the commission of crime are still at large.
Investigation into the case is going on, absconding persons who are evading their arrest shall be arrested soon, police added.
