Rather reviews stock, supply position of essentials

Jammu JANUARY 09 – To review the stock and supply position of essential commodities in the State particularly in snow-bound areas, a high level meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of the Minister, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather.
The Minister, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Chief Secretary, Mr. S. S. Kapur and Commissioner/Secretary CAPD, Mr. Mehboob Iqbal also attended the meeting.
The Ministers were informed that adequate stock of essential commodities were available in all government godowns, especially in snow-bound areas of Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
The meeting discussed the measures for streamlining the distribution system so that people of the state are provided essential commodities smoothly.

Rather said that it would be the endeavour of the government to fulfil the basic needs of the people.
The Ministers directed Commissioner/Secretary, CAPD to instruct the Assistant Directors to ensure the availability of essential commodities such as rice, atta, kerosene oil and sugar at the ration ghats and fair price shops in their respective jurisdictions.
