| Gupta urges government to redress peoples’ problems | | | Earlyy Times Report Jammu, Jan 09- The leader of the BJP Legislators’ Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has impressed upon the Government to pay their due attention towards problems facing the people especially to their basic needs like those of electricity, drinking water, supply of the necessasities of life and take decisions about the issues which were kept pending by the previous coalition. Responding to the complaints of the people of inhabitants of Talab Tillo and other localities about the inordinate cuts in the supply of electricity, Prof. Gupta said that it is the duty of the local Government to take care of the problems which have come up because of the strike by the officers/officials of the oil companies as also those of the truckers. The Government should realize that when the supplies of the cooking gas and other petroleum products have been disrupted, they should ensure the increased supply of electricity and make arrangements to overcome other problems coming up by the strike. The people of various localities complained that the leaders of the Congress led previous coalition had promised round the clock supply of electricity after the installation of electronic meters but not to say of promised supply, the cut has increased fourteen to twenty hours a day especially after the Omar led coalition has come into being. Addressing the meetings of party activists at Kabir Nagar, Prof. Gupta asked the workers to prepare for ventilating the problems facing the people as this dispensation could not be much different than the previous one and the people should not forget the experience of the past that how the Coalition of the National Conference and that of the Congress had proved earlier. Expressing surprise over the go slow role adopted by the new coalition, the BJP leader recalled that the State Governor had indicated over 10 days ago to the leaders of the State employees that the political Government would take decision about the implementation of their demands including the Sixth Pay Commission but strangely enough nothing has moved in this direction although the leaders of both the Congress and National Conference had been making tall promises during their electioneering especially with regard to the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission.
