Describes NC-Cong alliance a threat to people of J&K

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 09- The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chief Prof Bhim Singh has announced to resign as Member Legislative Council with immediate effect
In a communication addressed to the state Governor N N Vohra, with a copy to the Chairman Legislative Council, Prof Singh said that he was forced to quit the seat on various counts and described the Congress-NC alliance a grave threat for the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have been passing through a dark period of chaos and destruction cause by the rise of terrorism in the state.
The letter said that ‘it was shameful that Congress has sold out the interest of the people of all the three regions to National Conference which history shall not digest. There is handful of sycophants in J&K and rest of the country, who have been singing praises in support of this unholy, undesirable, anti-people alliance, to facilitate the past and present rulers to continue their robbing spree which shall prove counterproductive and dangerous for the future peace and progress of the state.
The copy of the letter which was circulated to the media at a press conference here today, Prof Singh held both Congress and NC responsible for the growing miseries of the people and maintained that it was National Conference leadership which was responsible for gross violation of election rules which resulted into the forged defeat of MUF in 1987 thus giving rise to the militancy. He said it was again the National Conference and Congress which raised the life of the Legislative Assembly from five to six years in 1975 by adopting emergency legislation of the Parliament which continues till date in the state. He said that it was none other than the National Conference which barred through legislation the Delimitation of the Assembly constituencies in J&K till 2026 resulting in grave injustice to the people of the state especially Jammuties.
Bhim Singh in his exhaustive letter alleged that ‘terrorism was born in J&K in the womb of Congress-NC wedlock in 1975 which provided oxygen to the anti-India elements and said that Indira Gandhi was justified to divest National Conference from power in 1984 as the party leadership had become a security risk’.
Prof Singh regretted that nearly one million migrants from POK have neither been given refugee status nor comprehensively settled only because of the opposition of the Congress, NC and newly born PDP.
The JKNPP chief said that the recently held polls in J&K were farce as the EVMs were rigged to raise the percentage of poll. Can anyone justify 79% polls in Kupwara District, 85% in Vijaypur, 82% in R.S. Pura, 73% in Marwah-Dachhan (Kishtwar), 80% in Gandon (Bhaderwah), Shopian etc.? Can anybody prove that 2.5 votes could be polled in one minute? Look at polling records of these constituencies. This fraud was committed by NC-PDP-Congress with clear understanding with BJP. All of them found a common enemy in Panthers Party, he said in his letter to the Governor.
