| Makar Sankrant on Jan 13 | | Arya Kanya Pathshala organizes colorful function | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 09- In connection with Makar Sankrant falling on January 13, Arya Kanya Pathshala, Purani Mandi, today organized colourful program in its school premises here today. BJP State President and MLA Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion while BJP state secretary Yudhvir Sethi and JMC Corporator Priya Sethi were the guests of honour.
Ashok Khajuria, in his address, expressed gratitude towards the school management, the Principal Madan Lal Abrol in particular, for organizing such functions which are directly linked with our rich culture and civilization. He said in the modern society, the present generation is running towards western culture and adopting their life styles which are a matter of grave concern. He said ours is a country with varied and rich culture and the need of the time is to promote it so that young generation is made aware of its values. The BJP chief said that our culture gives message of unity, brotherhood and nationalism and needs to be spread among the masses. He said school can play a significant role in promotion of culture among the young minds.
Yudhvir Sethi, in his address, said that the young children are the future of the nation and it is our duty to ensure that they grow up in society in such a way that they prove to be asset for the nation. He also said thanked the school management for organizing such functions.
Later, Lohri, was burnt by the staff, students and their parents and sweets were distributed among them.
A number of prominent social and political figures of the city including Rajesh Gupta, Krishan Lal Gupta, Anil Masoom, Rajinder Kumar, Ramji Aggarwal, Prem Gandotra and Parvesh Kumar also took part in the function.
