Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 3: UK-based Muzammil Ayyub Thakur, who has already been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for anti-national activities has threatened a Kashmiri woman rights activist Tasleema at the United Nations for exposing Pakistan sponsored terror in her homeland.
Tasleema, who was recently at the United Nations to hail the woman empowerment in Kashmir under Modi regime and to equally expose the sinister designs of Pakistan and its proxies, left the likes of Thakur frustrated.
In response, Thakur threatened her of dire consequences. Tasleema said the so called “human rights activist Muzammil Ayub Thakur threatened me at UN, saying ‘Kashmir Vapas Nahi Jana Kya?".
She has now written a letter to the UN, demanding action against Thakur for his misconduct during the UN session while the matter was being brought to the notice of the JK police as well.
Pertinently in 2022, Thakur who is of Kashmiri-origin has already been booked under the UAPA for allegedly carrying out anti-national activities on social media.
A complaint was also lodged by an advocate against Muzammil Ayyub Thakur for threatening him in public and on social media last year.
"Police Station Kothibagh reliably learnt that Thakur, through his social media account and other platforms, is indulging in activities which are prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and unity of India," the spokesperson had said.
As per the police, Thakur, who heads the World Kashmiri Freedom Movement (WKFM), was creating fear and alarm among the masses and inciting them to commit offences, which are likely to disturb public order.
Sources said the police has inputs that Thakur along with some other anti-nationals has been active on the social media especially the Twitter poisoning hate against the era of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of the so called special status on August 5, 2019.
A senior official said the matter about the threat to the Kashmiri woman at the UN was being discussed at highest levels to decide the future course of action.
