| Rana is CM’s political advisor | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 9: A key organizational strategist of National Conference and a leading businessman Devinder Singh Rana has been appointed as Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. This was the first major decision of the coalition government as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah moved into his Civil Secretariat Office.
According to an official spokesman, “the Government today appointed Devender Singh Rana, as the Political Advisor to the Chief Minister with immediate effect. He will have the rank and status of a Minister of State. However, he shall not draw any salary or remuneration for the said assignment”. Rana is also a Member of the Legislative Council.
Rana is an engineer by qualification. He was a Group Study Exchange Scholar in 1993 to United States of America. He has been Director of J&K Bank for seven years and Media Advisor to Omar Abdullah for six-and-a-half years.
