Sikh organizations hold meeting

JAMMU, Apr 6: In an emergency meeting of Various Sikh Organizations J&K all members with one voice under the Chairmanship of S. Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kanahiya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex-member DGPC Jammu. In the meeting Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Organizations appeal to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Home Minister of India Amit Shah for restoration of statehood of Jammu and Kashmir and assembly elections be held at earliest. In the meeting it is demanded that statehood be returned to Jammu and Kashmir as the Government has demoted State of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogation of Article 370 and 35A. The claim of Indian government for development of Jammu and Kashmir remains mere hollow slogan. It is also demanded that out of 24 reserved seats of 1947 refugees of POK eight seats of assembly and two seats of Parliament be allotted to refugees settled in Jammu province and Kashmir province. Out of eight assemblies and two parliament seats four seats of assembly and one seat of Parliament be allotted to Kashmir province and four assemblies and one seat of Parliament be allotted to Jammu province. The Jammu Kashmir Sikh Organizations appeals to restore the state hood status to Jammu and Kashmir. The Punjabi language be given the status of official language in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu Kashmir Sikh Organizations also demanded that High Court Judge be appointed from the Sikh Community that in 75 years after Independence no Sikh has been appointed as High Court Judge in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir UT is being ignored as well as discriminated since long. Hence a Sikh representative/Advisor must be in the ambit of administration to represent the Community.

It is also demanded that the quota for recruitment be fixed to provide the job to educated unemployed who belong to Sikh minority community. The representation to a Sikh be given in the Public Service commission Member and service Selection board. Prime Minister Narinder Modi during election in J&K, as the present PM in 2014 has already promised Rs.30 lacks to all POK refuges of 1947 but has only given Rs. 5.50 lacks and remaining 24.50 lacks be also released at the earliest.
It is also demanded that the quota for refugee unemployed youths be fixed in recruitment at par with other reservations for SC/ST categories. The basties (inhabitants) of 1947 POK refugees be regularized at earliest. The security be provided to Sikh basties at Kashmir at par with Kashmiri pundits, because the Sikh Community suffered with massacre like Chhattissinghpura and others. The commission for minorities is established in Jammu and Kashmir UT.
