| DDK Srinagar pays tribute to Imam Hussein | | 10-day special series on Youm-e-Ashura concludes | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 10: To commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Imam Hussein (AS) and his 72 companions who attained martyrdom on tenth of Muharram in 61 Hijra year to uphold the principles of truth and justice, Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar telecasted a ten-day special series Fateh Haq (Victory of justice) which concluded here on Thursday. Zakirs, Naatkhawans and religious scholars highlighted the significance of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions who laid down their lives for supremacy of justice and righteousness in the scorched plains of Karbala in Iraq 1,369 years ago. The viewers appreciated the endeavor of the DDK Srinagar for giving a virtual ambience to the scenes of Karbala and inviting scholars from all shades of life who presented both past and contemporary relevance of the teachings of Imam Hussein (AS) to help Muslims come out of the quagmire of worries and political dilemma. "There has been an overwhelming response to the program from the viewers who appreciated the visual appeal of the program and selection of the scholars who apprised the viewers about the significance of Karbala and highlighted the role of Imam Hussein (AS) and his teachings," Producer/ Director of the program Fateh Haq MY Parray said. Renowned scholars of the valley including Maulana Ghulaam Rasool Noori, Hujatul Islam Maulana Mohammad Hussain Taqvi, Aga Abdul Hussein Alsafvi Almoosvi and Maulana Iftikhar Hussein Ansari presented historic significance of the Karbala and explained the religious obligation of observing Youm-e- Ashura to the viewers.
