Ashok Parmar visits Rajouri; assesses development projects, public issues

RAJOURI, Apr 9: Principal Secretary, ARI and Training Department (District Prabhari), Ashok Parmar, today visited Rajouri district and took a comprehensive review of physical and financial progress on development projects and schemes being implemented in the district.
During a meeting held in this regard, Principal Secretary emphasized interdepartmental coordination as crucial towards resolving developmental bottlenecks besides ensuring timely completion of works.
Principal Secretary exhorted upon the officers to make dedicated efforts towards ensuring prompt and quality services to the general public.
He stressed on the need for taking effective measures to redress the genuine grievances of the public in a time bound manner.
Principal Secretary appreciated the district administration and Jal Shakti Department for progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission.
He asked the concerned officers to keep working with the same zeal for successful implementation of JJM in the district so that all the households of the district are provided with functional tapped water connections.
He asked the officers to educate the public about the welfare initiatives being implemented by the government and ensure that maximum beneficiaries are covered under these schemes. He also directed them to personally visit all the works of their departments and regularly review progress for expeditious completion of works. He also stressed on judicious utilization of funds provided for execution of development projects.
DDC Chairman, Advocate Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat, DDC members and BDC Chairpersons also highlighted a number of development issues concerning their respective areas.
The public representatives highlighted a number of issues and demands including speedy implementation of JJM projects, sanctioning of additional Anganwadi centres, dilapidated condition of roads and school buildings, replacement of worn out water pipes, construction of building for GDC Doongi, timely completion of work on office building of BDC Siot and related matters.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, briefed about the physical and financial progress achieved under various schemes and programs being implemented by different departments in the district through power point presentation during the meeting.
Among the others who attended the meeting were DDC members Rajouri, Thanamandi and Moughla, BDC members Moughla, Rajouri, Sunderbani, Nowshera, Doongi, Siot, Plangarh, Manjakote, Dhangri and Seri.
Besides, Chief Planning Officer, ASP, SE Hydraulics, ACD, ACP, DMO, CMO, DSWO and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
