| Dorje dedicates two vital bridges to people of Leh | | | Early Times Report Leh, Jan 10- Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Chering Dorje dedicated the newly constructed motor-able bridges of Shastang and Chanspa to the people here today. The bridges were constructed under Operation Sadbhavana of Indian Army at an estimated cost of Rs.40 lakhs. At an impressive function held at Chanspa, GOC, 14 Corps, Lt Gen VK Ahluwalia formally handed over these projects to the civil administration today. Executive Councilors of LAHDC, Tsering Norboo Lampa, Dorje Motup, Mohammed Khan and Stanzin Delik, Deputy Commissioner, Ajeet Kumar Sahu and top ranking Army officers and a large number of locals were present on the occasion. Addressing on the occasion, Dorje expressed thanks to the Army for taking up construction of these two vital bridges, which were earlier washed away in flash floods in 2006. He said with the completion of these Bridges in a record time the people of the area heaved a sigh a relief. He also complimented the Army for undertaking construction of two hostel buildings for the physically challenged children, besides setting up a milk plant under Operation Sadbavana. He hoped the Army would continue to support the Council in building infrastructure in the district
