| Police arrested 2 drug peddlers, Brown sugar, forest herbs recovered in Baramulla | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 9: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Brown sugar like substance and forest herbs from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Based on a specific information regarding presence of narcotics at the house of one Bashir Ahmad Ganie a resident of Trikanjan Boniyar, a Police party alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the said house.
During search of the house, cash amounting to Rs 2.36, 10 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substance and forest herbs was recovered in presence of Magistrate. The Drug Peddler was taken into custody immediately, police said.
A case under sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) AND Indian Forest Act (IF) Act was registered in Police Station Boniyar and investigation set in motion.
In a similar act a drug peddler identified as Ghulam Hassan Ganie a resident of Trikanjan Boniyar tried to flee from the spot after seeing the police checking part near Forest office Boniyar.
However, he was apprehended tactfully, police said and added the accused was on way the to Boniyar from Trikanjan
During the personal search 9 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately.
The accused was booked under NDPS Act and investigations set in motion. |
