DEO Ramban inspects polling stations

RAMBAN, Apr 9: District Election Officer, Ramban Mussarat Islam visited various polling stations in Ramban district to oversee the ongoing Special Summary Revision during special camps.
Among others, the District Election Officer was accompanied by Deputy District Election Officer Lal Chand; Electoral Registration Officer, Gias-ul-Haq and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Rafiq Ahmad and officials of district Election department.
During the visit, the DEO inspected polling stations in Assembly Constituency-54, Ramban. These included UPS Govindpora (Polling Station No. 83), GPS Garh (Polling Station No. 95), GMS Maitra (Polling Station No. 94), GGMS Maitra-A (Polling Station No. 96), GHSS Ramban (Polling Station No. 59) and GHSS Ramban-A (Polling Station No. 60).
The DEO enquired about the pace of electoral roll updates from Booth Level Officers (BLOs). BLOs were instructed to educate the public and eligible youth about the ongoing revision and focus on registering all eligible voters. They were also asked to update voter information, including deletions, corrections and Aadhaar number seeding, and to identify PwD and 80+ year voters.
BLOs were instructed to ensure that their polling stations have Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) such as drinking water, electricity, ramps, toilets and furniture. They were also asked to report any necessary repairs or renovations during the Gram Sabha of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
A team headed by ERO (Sub Divisional Magistrate) AC-55, Banihal visited various polling stations in the respective assembly constituency to inspect special camps held to register eligible youth as voters. AEROs (Tehsildars) also visited polling stations in their respective jurisdictions to monitor the Special Summary Revision exercise during the special camp.
