| Muneeza, Ashraf released from JIC after found innocent | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 10- Mohammed Ashraf and Muneeza Begum, who were arrested on suspected involvement in aiding terrorists in building concrete bunkers in Bhatti Dhar forest belt in Mendhar, were set free. They were released from the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) where they had been kept for sustained questioning. On Wednesday Ashraf and Muneeza had been subjected to lie detector test. The report of the polygraphic test was received yesterday evening which had given a clean chit to Ashraf and Muneeza, official sources said. These sources said that the police had picked up Muneeza in place of other woman, who is believed to have played an active role in providing material and logistic support to the terrorists. The woman has been arrested and would be lodged in the JIC for questioning. Meanwhile, the sources confirmed that all the terrorists who had engaged the troops in a prolonged encounter in the Bhatti Dhar area have escaped. Sources said that the cordon laid by the troops had some loopholes which facilitated militants in getting a safe passage. Sources said that the Bhatti Dhar incident had motivated the troops to carry out search operations in other forest areas in the Mendhar belt where militants had carved out safe sanctuaries. The incident had forced militants to cross back to Pakistan and some of them have taken shelter in hideouts built in the hilly belts. ******************
