Jammu, Apr 12: GGM Science College under the patronage of Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and guidance of vice Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Verma, NSS Program Officer Dr. Deepali Mahajan, Staff Secretary Dr. Geetanjali Rajput and Prof. Aasha Sharmhal organized an awareness program SVEEP as per the instructions of Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir through District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu. The SVEEP team headed by SVEEP DLMTs Dr. Ajay Singh Manhas Sr lecturer Ms. Poonam Gandotra Sr Lecturer Ms. Neeraj Jamwal Academic officer SCERT Darshan Lal Ms. Sat pal kour Lecturer. Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program, better known as SVEEP, is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program, better known as SVEEP, is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. Election commission of India offers online voter registration for Indian citizens who have attained the age of 18 on the qualifying date (1st of January of the year of revision of electoral roll). Citizen, can enroll himself/herself as General Voter and fill Form 6 online at National Voters’ Service Portal. Registered voters can also check their enrollment sstatus. The link for online registration, linking the aadhar card, editing the information is https://www.nvsp.in/. One can use Voter Helpline App to verify his/her name in Electoral Roll or register online. The team elaborated the different forms Form 6, 7 and 8 to be filled. Introduction to SVEEP, awareness about voting, importance of elections, sensitizing the new voters regarding various forms related to addition, correction, deletion, etc., information and technical aspects of EVM and VVPAT, Pledge were the main highlights of the program. The program ended with vote of thanks by NSS Program Officer Unit II Dr. Deepali Mahajan.
