56% funds spent in Doda

DODA, JAN 11: Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Syed Sharief-ud-Din convened a meeting of sectoral officers to review the physical and financial achievements made on various development schemes being implemented in Doda district during current financial year 2008-09.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Doda, Superintending Engineers of R&B Circle, Hydraulic Circle, Doda, Chief Planning Officer, Doda and other sectoral officers of Doda district were present in the meeting.
Various measures like sectorwise expenditure upto ending December, 2008, progress of various works and action taken on the decisions taken during the last District Development Board meeting were reviewed during the meeting.
It was disclosed that Rs. 3891.21 lakh were earmarked for Doda district under annual plan 2008-09 including, loan component, of which 56.11% of the amount were spent on execution of various developmental works upto ending December 2008, in the district. In education sector, 64.78 % expenditure has been registered till date while 67.80% in R&B sector, 69.96% in health, 83.33% in power, 100% expenditure under centrally sponsored scheme JRY, 77% in rural sanitation and 67.65 % expenditure have been registered under Gujjar and Bakerwal scheme have been registered.
The Deputy Commissioner urged upon the officers to speed up the pace of progress on various development project and work with zeal and dedication in order to complete development schemes in time so that the benefits could reach to people.
Sharief also asked the officers to maintain quality of works and ensure full utilization on funds.
