Sahyog India launches drive against HIV/AIDS

Jammu, Jan 11-Sahyog India, a social organization, today launched a vigorous campaign to enlighten the general public, especially those living in the border belts of the state, about the ill effects of the dreaded HIV- AIDS and the preventive measures required in checking spread of the disease.
As a part of its program the ‘Sahyog India’ organized HIV/ AIDS advocacy seminar in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention Control Society and State Women Commission at Prerna Institute of Rehabilitation and Research at Kullian RS Pura today. Dr. M.A. Wani Project Director State AIDS Prevention Control Society inaugurated the seminar and declared the Seminar as a mass movement against the AIDS.
Dr Wani delivered a brain storming technical lecture which motivated the gathering to awake up and dedicate for the welfare of mankind selflessly in general and the persons suffering from HIV/AIDS in particular He said that HIV/AIDS is the most challenging Global problem and it can only be curbed when we all go hand in hand with integrated approach to aware and educate entire community regarding its causes and effects.
While appreciating the selfless devotional attitude of Sahyog India for matchless social service, he said that State AIDS Prevention Control Society will extend all support to the organization in its noble mission.
Deepika B. Thakur Deputy Director J&K State AIDS Prevention Control Society also addressed the gathering and stressed upon to be practical with missionary zeal. Haffiza Muzzaffar Secretary J&K Commission for Women also assured full support to the Organization in carrying forward its mission.
President Sahyog India presented key note address and enumerated the measures being taken by it to educate the masses about the preventive measures required to check the spread of this dreaded disease.
Prof. MR Puri, Ram Sahai, Shakuntla Joshi, Nasreen Khan, Esther William, Archa Jain, Farida Mughal, Rajni Munjal, Devi Dayal Khajuria, Th. Kashmir Singh Manhas, Mahesh Kinth, Nazir Masih and Capt. S Bana Singh who were also present on the occasion extended best wishes for the successful drive launched by Sahyog India.
