Special Summary Revision-2023: DEO Rajouri visits polling stations; Inspects Assured Minimum Facilities

RAJOURI, Apr 15: District Election Officer, Vikas Kundal, today visited Polling stations 43, 44, and 45 located at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri to inspect the assured minimum facilities available there for the voters.
During the inspection, the DEO Rajouri inspected the basic amenities such as clean drinking water, electricity, toilets, and ramps for people with disabilities at the polling stations.
During his visit to the polling stations, the DEO Rajouri, Vikas Kundal also interacted with the youth and the public and highlighted the special summary revision process. He emphasized that the special summary revision process is crucial for maintaining accurate and up-to-date electoral rolls, which is essential for ensuring free and fair elections.
He also informed that the special summary revision is currently underway in the district from April 5 to April 20, 2023 and urged the youth to enroll themselves as voters during this period.
While interacting with the BLOs, The DEO enquired about the pace of electoral roll updates. BLOs were instructed to educate the public and eligible youth about the ongoing revision and focus on registering all eligible voters.
The District Election Officer also exhorted them to take extra care while making addition of new voters/left out voters and deletion of duplicate voters to avoid errors and completion of the process before the due date.
He also directed the concerned officers to further pass instructions to all the officers and officials associated with the SSR to work with dedication and zeal to complete the exercise in a time bound manner. He also stressed to the concerned to work in tandem to increase the percentage of enrolment in the district.
Officers who accompanied the DEO during his visit were ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; Dy DEO, Babu Ram Tandan; ACD, Vijay Kumar and BLOs.
