| Quashing of Bharti's PSA demanded | | YPC stages massive protest demonstration | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Jan 11- A massive protest was staged today by the members of Youth Prabandhak Committee(YPC) demanding cancellation of Public Safety Act (PSA) imposed on Dinesh Bharti, who actively participated in the two-month long Amarnath agitation.
Hundreds of protestors took to the streets and shouted slogans demanding immediate quashing of PSA on Dinesh Bharti, as was assured by the government, at the time of reaching an agreement with the SAYSS spearheading 62- long agitation on Amarnath Shrine land row, on August 31 last year.
''Religious preacher, Dinesh Bharti had peacefully participated in the agitation and despite that he was booked under PSA. No action is being taken against those who openly support the terrorism,'' alleged one of the members of the Prabandhak committee.
The committee members, however, said that protests and agitation would be intensified if government would not fulfill its promise.
The state government imposed PSA on Dinesh Bharti for allegedly ''instigating'' people with firebrand speeches and religious sermons during the Amarnath land row.
