Srinagar Police busted an inter-district burglary gang

SRINAGAR, Apr 18:
Police on Tuesday busted an inter-district burglary gang when they arrested eleven thieves and recovered stolen property including gold, cash and seized three vehicles in Srinagar district. Police said on the intervening night of March 2/3, 2023 thieves barged into the house of one Abdul Rehman Rather at Rawatpora Baghat and decamped with jewellery and cash.
A case was registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation was set in motion during which eleven accused persons were arrested for questioning.
Those who were picked up for question were identified as Abdul Qayoom Guroo, Arif Ahmad Guroo alias Tasleem arif, Shareef Ahmad Guroo, Abdul Rashid Guroo , Arif Ahmad Garoo, Mohammad Haneef Guroo residents of Rabtar Gund Roshan Ganderbal, Sameer Hussain, Asif Hussain Dar, Shabaz Hussain laway, Mohammad Maqbool laway residents of Sultanpora pattan and Nazakat Ahmad khan of Tikeri Udhampur.
Four among the eleven accused who are arrested from twin districts of south Kashmir, Naina Batapura Pulwama and Amono Kulgam admitted to have committed the burglary at Baghat and others are receivers of the property, police said.
Two others were arrested from Naina Batpora Pulwama and other two from Amono Kulgam , police said and added that on their disclosure five more accused who were receivers of stolen property were arrested from Ganderbal and Baramulla districts in different raids.
Police said the interesting fact about the gang is that it is being operated by three brothers from the same household, who closely coordinate these thefts in the areas of different districts and police Stations across the valley.
