Jammu. Jan 12 -Alleging callous attitude of government towards the demand of ‘Open Choice’, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) today served seven days ultimatum to government and education authority to concede their demand of open-choice. Addressing media persons, Suresh Ajay Magotra, state secretary, ABVP, said that despite having two rounds of talks with the administration no decision was taken on this burning issue. He alleged that the government was not serious towards this problem forcing the students to come on the streets. He said that students have been protesting from last several days for ‘open choice’ in the coming examination as their classes suffered due to recent assembly polls and the 62 long Amarnath land agitation. He said so far only 25% to 30% syllabus has been covered. ‘Demand of open choice for college students is genuine and must be fulfilled soon, he said adding that ABVP has given seven days ultimatum to administration otherwise may prepare itself for dire consequences’, he warned adding that ABVP in the meantime will organize ‘signature campaign in all the colleges of Jammu province in favour of their demand which will later be submitted to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Magotra appealed to the student community to remain united to fight for their rights..
