ANTF seized narcotic drugs, arrested hardcore drug dealers

JAMMU, Apr 18: Under the Union Government's program NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (the specialised unit of JKP to tackle the menace of Drugs) J and K, has recovered a large quantity of formulated narcotic drugs from a sleeper bus. Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug trafficking and drug abuse from gross root level, ANTF Jammu has recovered a large quantity of formulated narcotic drugs from a sleeper bus and arrested the driver of the bus. The team of ANTF conducted series of raids in Jammu and finally zeroed in and arrested one of the most wanted Drug suppliers who was identified as Mohd Ishaq @SHAKA S/o Rehmat Ali R/o Gujjar Colony Channi Himmat Jammu along with the consignment of 120 Codeine Phosphate Bottles at ISBT Transport Yard Narwal Jammu. He is main drug peddler of Channi Himmat Jammu. He is involved in multiple case of NDPS at different police stations. The arrested person is the main supplier of Narcotics and Psychotropic substances which are being smuggled from NCR to J&K U/T. A Case FIR No 3/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station ANTF has been registered against the habitual offender. There is nexus between narcotics drug peddlers and few distributors of Delhi, NCR and Solan who supply the formulated narcotics to the peddlers in Jammu and Kashmir and the suppliers and distributors supply the drugs to the addicted youth of the UT of JK and Punjab. The investigation is under progress to unearth the nexus between the suppliers and the distributors and owners of the bus if any to transport narcotics to different states. The arrest and the recovery were done by Inspector Varuneshwar Singh under guidance of Shri Shamsher Singh JKPS ANTF Jammu Zone under overall supervision of Shri Vinay Sharma, SSP ANTF J&K. This arrest has been hailed as a big sigh of relief for the sleuths as well as Youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The other involvements in the case are being investigated and more arrests are expected in near future.
In yet another successful operation, ANTF Jammu has conducted raids at multiple locations in Kashmir valley recently and arrested one of the hardcore narcotics drug suppliers with the help of Budgam Police from Ichgam in Budgam district. The arrested person is Nisar Ahmed Rather S/O Mohd Qasim Rather R/O Ichgam Budgam is a notorious Kingpin/Supplier who was wanted in Case FIR 15/2022 u/s 8/15/20/25/29 NDPS Act 201 IPC of Police Station ANTF Jammu and is the main supplier of Narcotics and Psychotropic drugs which are being smuggled from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab and other states of northern India. He was operating from Kashmir Valley. He was associate of another drug dealer of Punjab Surinder Pal and his other associates who used to collect the consignments and sell it to the local youth of Punjab to earn hefty illegal amounts. The Punjab based main receiver namely Surinder Pal is already arrested and lodged in jail. With the arrest of these main notorious drug dealers, ANTF Jammu has been able to break the nexus of Narcotics and Psychotropic drugs suppliers and receivers from Kashmir valley to Punjab. The raids were led by Inspector Amandeep Singh of ANTF under the guidance of senior officers.
Moreover, acting swiftly to thwart the escape of one drug distributor to foreign countries, ANTF Jammu arrested one Harvinder Singh Bassi S/o Bhag Singh Bassi and his son Digvijay Singh Bassi R/O Garaha Phillour Jalandhar and lodged them in jail. They were zeroed in recently.
ANTF J&K has appealed the general public particularly the youth to stay away from drugs and to share any kind of information regarding drug related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such drug dealers. The identity of the informant as well as whistle-blower shall be kept confidential. Persons found in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law. The community participation in fight against drug abuse can serve the purpose of complete eradication of the menace of drugs from our society.
