Ex Servicemen shot & injured his wife, daughter, attempted to claim his own life

KISHTWAR, Apr 18: In a tragic incident, the drunken ex serviceman identified as 45 year old Ghulam Hassan son of Faqeer Mohammad Gujjar R/o Angole had shot his wife, injured his daughter following an altercation with his wife over excessive drinking before he tried to claim his own life. The injured woman was identified as Rubeena Begum wife of Ghulam Hassan & his daughter Yasmeena Banoo (14 years).
As soon as the incident took place, the neighbours immediately rush to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospi Kishtwar where the condition of Ex serviceman is said to be critical while his wife and daughter had also received critical injuries but are said to be stable.
The official sources told the Early Times that the accused had open the fire with his 12 bore licensed gun beside also hold a single barrel gun at his home.
One of the relative of the injured women said that excessive drinking by the accused resulted into altercation at home on routine bases and today when accused return home back ar around 7 PM in heavily drunken state, the altercation took place as a result of which the accused opened fire on his wife due to which the splinters also hit the daughter accompanied the mother.
The locals said that trade of illicit liquor is going on unchecked in the area resulted into incident like today's one and called upon the authorities to look into the matter beside to take action against the illicit liquor mafia active in the area.
Senior police officials including Dy.SP HQ Kishtwar Ashish Gupta and SHO Kishtwar Syed Abid Shah Bukhari also visited the injured at hospital.
"We have registered FIR No.84/2023 U/S 307/323 IPC and 30 IA at police station Kishtwar and investigation has been set into the motion to ascertain the facts behind the firing incident" SHO Kishtwar told Early Times. He said that the weapon used in the offence has also been seized, beside the scene of crime has also been persevered for further proceedings.
