| No militant’s body found in Mendhar forests | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 11: Three days have passed since security forces called off the nine day long gunfight in the Bhatidhar forest area of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district but they are still searching for the dead bodies of the slain ultras claimed to have been killed by the army . Army in its official statement had claimed that they have eliminated four militants suspected to be the cadre of the Jaish-e-Mohammad and are continuing with the operation.After remaining alert and maintaining a tight cordon for nine days in different circles the army suddenly called off the operation and expressed fear that taking advantage of the rough terrain and prevailing climatic conditions the militants might have managed to escape. The army on January 9 again issued a press statement claiming that search operations would continue in the area but even three days after their search has not been matierlaised raising question marks over the claim of the security forces of having eliminated four militants.
