| J&K fortunate to have young CM: Slathia | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU JAN 11: The Minister for Industries and Commerce and Labour and Employment, Surjit Singh Slathia has extended his thanks to the people of Vijaypur Constituency for voting him to power. He said that people have many aspirations from the new government and assured that efforts would be made to solve all genuine problems in a phased manner. Slathia was addressing a huge gathering of people at village Nandpur in Vijaypur Constituency today. Slathia said that State was fortunate to have a young and dynamic Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah who has a distinct agenda to provide corruption-free government and ensuring equitable and all round development of the State. He said that with the cooperation of people, the tempo of development would be accelerated and all major schemes that have been undertaken would be completed within targeted period. The Minister apprised that the government would accord priority to attend vital issues like upgradation of basic infrastructure in rural areas, drinking water, improved power supply, concrete lanes and drains, generation of employment avenues for qualified youth etc. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration for implementing various projects. Earlier on reaching Vijaypur town, the Minister was accorded rousing reception by the people. Entire Vijaypur town was decorated with banners, party flags and men, women, children were standing in queues with garlands to welcome the Minister amid drum beating and pro-government slogans. He also acknowledged the public at villages Gagore, Gudwal, Chack Salarian, Karalian, Bana Chack, Bandral, Ramgarh, Keso where hundreds of people gathered to welcome the Minister.
