Public outreach programmes held at 4 locations

DODA, Apr 19: To listen to the issues and grievances of the people, the Public Outreach Programmes were held today at four different locations across Doda district as part of the weekly Block Divas program. The weekly Block Diwas program was held at Sonwara Panchayat, Sub Division Gandoh; Health & Wellness Centre Jathi, Sub Division Assar; Tehsil Headquarter Thathri, Sub Division Thathri; and Eidgah Chakarbhati, Panchayat Sindra, Block Bhalla, Sub District Bhaderwah.
Block Diwas is aimed at getting first-hand appraisal of the problems and development aspirations of the people. It also aims to ensure equitable development of rural and urban areas by fulfilling popular aspirations of the people.
Block Diwas program is being organised weekly on every Wednesday at different locations of the district to reach out to the people and listen to their grievances, aspirations, and demands. Several public delegations, individuals besides PRI members, projected the local demands and problems being faced by the public at all the four locations today.
Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, etc. The presiding officers of the Block Diwas, along with officers in charge of all the departments, gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and assured to resolve all the genuine demands/ issues at the earliest.
