CM’s dream of khushal J&K would be translated into reality: Bandh

Srinagar, September 17 – Giving impetus to the Chief Ministers dictum of monitoring closely various ongoing development activities for making Jammu and Kashmir a khushal state, the Minister of State for Roads and Building Mohammad Khalil Bandh inspected the Magam-Tangmarg-Gulmarg 4-lane road here today.
Mr. Bandh was accompanied by the Member Legislative Assembly Pampore Mir Zahoor Ahmad. The Minister while interacting with people said that 25 kms. long 4-lane road is being constructed under the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme at an estimated cost of Rs 76 crore. In the first phase work on 15 kms Magam to Tangmarg has been taken up.
The Minister directed the executing agencies to expedite the construction work strictly as per the guidelines thereby monitoring the quality of work. He asked them to complete it within allotted time frame. He also directed to pay compensation to the genuine affected families at the earliest.
Executive Engineer R&B Mr. Parvez Naqesh apprised the Minister that all the compensation money has been kept at the disposal of concerned District Development Commissioner. He further said that on this 25km road as many as three bridges would be constructed.
At Kunzer Mr. Bandh inspected under construction 88 meter four lane bridge which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.88 crore. He directed the concerned agencies to complete it within 15 days so that it would be dedicated to the people. He further said due to non-availability of bridge at Kunzer the people faced many problems especially during raining season.
Later, at world famous resort Gulmarg, the Minister inspected ongoing work of artificial lake at Dhobi Ghat, where one lake has already been constructed in the area of 40 kanals and work on second lake spreading over an area of 35 kanals is in full swing. These two lakes would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore.
The Minister asked the concerned agencies to complete the work at an earliest. He said with the completion of these two lakes the glory of Gulmarg would attract more and more tourists. He further directed the Gulmarg Development Authority to maintain the clean environment in and around Gulmarg. He also directed them to maintain a blanket ban on the use of polythene in the area.
He also asked to identify a site for construction of a Dak Bungalow and also submit a proposal for the same.
