SSP Kishtwar brief security personnel ahead of Eid Nimaz, held area dominance drill

KISHTWAR, Apr 19: In a significant development, Jammu and Kashmir police as a part to monitor law and order during upcoming Eid celebrations will use Israel made sophisticated drones to keep an eye on miscreants & mischievous elements during Eid Nimaz gatherings.
SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal told the Early Times that Kishtwar police along with CRPF, CISF & IRP held an area dominance drill ahead of Eid ul fitar celebrations beside this security personals were also briefed about what to do and what not to do during the law and order duty.
SSP Khalil Poswal said that Kishtwar police will also use the drones for surveillance during Eid gathering which include highly advance Israel made sophisticated drones. He said that Kishtwar police had received 3 Israeli made drones for use in various activities including to keep an eye on miscreants during religious gatherings. He said that elaborated security plans has been put in place for peaceful conduct of Eid Nimaz and other functions related to Eid celebrations.
He said that Security personnel has been given instruction to use human approach to deal with the situation added that beside elaborated security measures, 5 drones will monitor and fly over the Eidgah and its vicinity areas to keep check on public movement. He said that no vehicle will be allowed to move towards Eidgah added that in case of bad weather conditions, the security arrangements will be put in place at mosques wherever Eid Nimaz will be offered. He said that meetings at ward level involving people from cross section of the society are also going on with an aim to strengthen the bonds between the two communities with active & joint involvement of both the communities towards successful Eid celebrations.
It is important to mention that Kishtwar is a highly sensitive District and witnesses around half dozen major communal clashes resulted into the deaths of several persons beside loss to properties of poor people including business community.
Earlier SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS, held briefing of Police personnel of District Police, Armed Police, CRPF & CISF of District Kishtwar regarding the duties to be performed on the occasion of Eid. He briefed the nafri to perform duties with full alertness and dedication to ensure proper security during the celebration of Eid.
Further, District Police Kishtwar in collaboration with Armed Police, CRPF & CISF organised a road march in the city.
SSP Kishtwar Poswal flagged off the march pass, in which Addl SP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh-JKPS, IC. CO IR 22Bn Sh. Narinder Singh Parihar, Dy.SP Hqrs Ashish Gupta, SDPO Marwah Devinder Singh Bandral, Dy SP PC Kishtwar Vishal Sharma Dy.SP DAR Sajjad Khan, SHO Kishtwar Syed Abid Shah Bukhari besides other officers of Police, CRPF & CISF also joined the march.
The Police officers/officials & CAPF passed through major areas and crossings of the city including Hidyal Chowk, Kichloo Mohalla, Jamia Market , Gudhali chowk, Bus Stand Kishtwar, Shaheedi Chowk, Dak Bungalow etc and later on culminate at Chowgan ground Kishtwar.
