| HC orders status-quo on shifting of dispensary by Red Cross | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 12-In a petition filed in the larger interest of the public against the shifting of dispensary and handing over the possession of the first floor of the building to the State Bank of India, Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain of J&K High Court Jammu Wing has ordered that status-quo be maintained as it exists. Justice Hussain, after hearing Sr. Adv SS Lehar assisted by Adv Akshay Anand appearing for the petitioners, observed that objections have not been filed despite directions and directed Shaista Hakim Deputy Advocate General to obtain instructions and till then the status-quo as it exists be maintained. During the course of argument Sr. Adv SS Lehar submitted that the conversation of the Red Cross society building into commercial complex is against its basic constitution including aims and objects and also referred the communications of then Health Minister and members of Managing Committee of Red Cross Society opposing the shifting of the dispensary and medical facilities and seeking status-quo order qua the construction/ handing over the possession/ shifting of the medical facilities from the first floor to second floor. Raj Kumar Mahajan and Ors of the locality, have challenged the shifting of Medical facilities and dispensary from first floor to second floor of the building of Red Cross Society Kacchi Chowni Jammu and also seeking the direction against handing over the possession of first floor of the building which has been earmarked for medical facilities and dispensary to the bank.
